These are children that could have just as easily been in the same position as Trayvon Martin. I’m sure, you looke through these and think, “She’s not black,” and, “It’s not the same,” but it is. Too many people overlook a very important fact. Besides being black, besides being young and hooded, besides all of that, Trayvon Martin was a child. Somebody called him son, he was somebody’s child. You might have all heard of, “The black kid that got shot in Sanford,” but not enough people have thought about the child -black, white, or otherwise- that was killed. The light that will no longer shine. The future that we will no longer get the chance to see. This was not a crime against blacks or whites, it was a crime against, not just another human being, but a child.

You WILL NOT take Trayvon Martin’s story and whitewash it.
You WILL NOT ignore the fact that Black children are at risk of being harassed and killed on a daily basis.
You WILL NOT whitewash the way in which people of color raise their children to avoid getting killed in ways that white children are not.
You WILL NOT willfully erase the target hanging on MY back and EVERY single bloody Black person in this godforsaken country.
You WILL NOT lie to the world and act like this wasn’t a hate crime when every single Black mother, every single Black father - hell, ALL parents of color know exactly what went down on February 26th.
FUCKING HELL. People like you pull the trigger. People like you help make the world dangerous for people like me and I WILL NOT let another child die due to your ignorant, “colorblind” WHITEWASHING narrative.
When White children get shot up in the streets for no damn reason, you let me know.
When White folks are pulled over for driving while White, you let me know.
When White women are desperate and screaming for care outside a hospital and are arrested and die in jail, you let me know.

The only way is to hit them where it truly hurts.
Their profit margins.March 2012 is the end of the 1st quarter in economic reports worldwide.
Do not buy a single record. Do not download a single song, legally or illegally. Do not go to see a single film in cinemas, or download a copy, Do not buy a DVD in the stores. Do not buy a videogame. Do not buy a single book or magazine.
Wait the 4 weeks to buy them in April: see the film later, etc. Holding out for just 4 weeks, maximum, will leave a gaping hole in media and entertainment companies’ profits for the 1st quarter, an economic hit which will in turn be observed by governments worldwide as stocks and shares will blip from a large enough loss of incomes.
This action can give a statement of intent:”We will not tolerate the Media Industries’ lobbying for legistation which will censor the internet.”
I like this, but I don’t see how refraining from illegal downloads helps this cause. Media companies that support SOPA gain nothing from illegal downloads.
